Village Restaurant 435 North Warpole Street, Upper Sandusky, Ohio

One of the roads we like to travel on the backroads of Ohio is the Lincoln Highway. Formerly known to Ohioans as Route 30, to those of us old enough to remember, it is now the Lincoln Scenic Byway. Upper Sandusky is one of the small cities along this route. Upper Sandusky is in Wyandot Country and there is much to see and do there. For history buffs, like me and my husband , there is the Indian Mill, the Parker Covered Bridge, the Colonel Crawford monument, and the Wyandot Mission Church. There are also several antique shops and gift shops as well as other dining and shopping

Since we often go in search of restaurants that are local and not part of a chain, we found a quaint local eatery called the Village Restaurant. Located at 435 North Warpole Street in Upper Sandusky. Everything they serve is home cooked. . They have a diverse menu of salads, sandwiches, pasta, burgers, and their specialty items, such as broasted chicken, sugar cured ham, broasted pork chops, New York strip steak and a beef Manhattan. The also have seafood, and a lighter fare menu. Deserts include homemade pies, shakes and malts.
My husband had the Manhattan and said it is one of the best he has ever had. I had their spinach salad with a warm bacon I loved it. In fact, I had it again the second time we went to restaurant. I’m sure we will be visiting here again.
